Crystals in the Etch Cream

Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream contains small, crystalline particles. The particle formation is a natural occurrence in the etching cream due to its high potency. To prevent interference with the stencil designs, once applied, the cream should be gently moved around on the glass with the brush. Large or obtrusive particles should be gently removed from the stencil and put back in the bottle or discarded.

If the quantity or size of the particles in the cream becomes a nuisance, the crystals can be dissolved and redistributed. Tightly close the cap to the bottle and place it in very warm, not hot, water for a few hours, occasionally removing the closed bottle from the water and shaking it to re-blend the contents. Never add water to the etching cream. Instructions for the proper application and use of Armour Etch can be found here Armour Etch.

Shelf Life. Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream has an indefinite shelf life when properly used and stored. Factors such as temperature, exposure to air and direct sunlight can dramatically affect the longevity of the cream. We recommend a temperature of 65 degrees or warmer for the best results.
