Project Steps

1. This design was etched in stages. The technique enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit. It also allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously.
2. After preparing the glass, place a border stencil on each glass so the longer side of the design runs along the rim of the glass. The stem ends of the design will be pointing toward each other, making a frame edge across the glasses.
3. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the design onto the glass.
4. Thoroughly clean off the design area. Place the glasses next to each other so the end of the flowers on the rim from each glass are pointing toward each other. It should look like an open box.
5. Position the grandma and grandpa stencils into their respective corners, as close to the flowers as possible.
6. Use the etching cream, as before, to etch the names onto the glasses.
