Preparation and Usage Starting Skills

Project Steps

  1. After preparing the glass, position the rocket and cloud onto the crescent. Cover the seagull on the cloud stencil with masking tape every time you use the stencil.
    • This design was etched in stages. The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
    • This design also used a masking technique which allows for the selective use of certain parts of a stencil in specific locations
  2. Follow the etching cream directions to etch the design onto the glass.
  3. Turn the cloud stencil upside down and place in another location on the glass.
  4. Use the etching cream, as before, to etch the cloud onto the glass.
  5. Continue adding and etching full and partial clouds onto the glass until the desired amount is achieved.
