Floral Draped Vase

Convert old vases from basements and closets into fresh and floral works of functional art. Vases can be used to display found treasures, shells & rocks, seasonal baubles, wrapped sweets, small notes of encouragement, and as a luminary with flameless candles.

Preparation and Usage Starting Skills

Project Steps

This design was etched in stages. The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
After preparing the glass, position the floral garland around the top of the vase and a line of flowers at the bottom. Place a floral heart near the middle. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch these onto the vase
Looking through the back of the glass, place small garlands and individual flowers above and below the heart. Use the etching cream again to etch these onto the vase.
