Project Steps

1. This design used the hover and press method to place stencil images in spots where the necessary view is obscured by stencil borders. The technique is done by placing stencils sticky side up, holding the glass over the stencil and maneuvering it in air before pressing it down onto the stencil.
2. This design was also etched in stages. The technique enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit. It also allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously.
3. More than 1 stencil sheet of the Art Deco is required to etch all designs simultaneously.
4. Across the middle of the wine glass, place two small stencils, circle end to circle end, so they make a level line with the designs.
5. Place the largest fitting Art Deco stencil across the top of the vase with the same size stencil below it running in the opposite direction. The circle ends should be on opposite sides of the vase with the flowing ribbon part of the stencil images face each other.
6. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the designs onto the glasses.
7. Using the hover and press method, center the desired monogram letters above the circles on the wine glass. Do the same to position the letters in the open space between the etching on the vase.
8. Follow the etching cream instructions to add the letters to the glass.
