Project Steps
- Please note- Not all serving glassware can be etched with cream. Always test first before beginning any project.
- After preparing the glass, mark the perimeter of the bowl into four equal quarters with a china pencil or water soluble marker. The simplest way to do this is the paper circle method.
- Paper Circle Method. Turn the bowl upside down on a piece of paper. Trace around the rim of the bowl with a pencil. Cut out the circle. Fold the circle evenly in half to create a crease down the middle of the circle. Fold the half circle evenly again to make a cone shape. Open the paper circle and place the upside-down bowl over it. Mark on the bowl where the creased lines touch the edges of the bowl with the pencil or marker.
- Beginning with the stencils of your choice, complete one half of the bowl. Place one stencil each on the same side just next to the mark. Evenly space the remaining stencils for that side between these two stencils. Repeat this process on the other side of the bowl. Please note- two stencil sheets are required to etch the entire rim at once, otherwise, etch one half at a time.
